Fairtrade Fortnight is an opportunity to share the message of Fairtrade and conscious consumption in general
22 February - 6 March 2022
Oxford has been a proud Fairtrade University since June 2018, along with several of its constituent colleges. Fairtrade is about social, economic and environmental justice.
Fairtrade Fortnight highlights the growing challenges climate change brings to farmers and workers in the communities that produce our day-to-day products. By being paid a fair rate, farmers, producers, and communities are more equipped to meet their everyday needs and deal with the challenges posed by climate change.
How to support the Oxford University Fairtrade scheme
Buy Fairtrade products at University outlets, high street shops and in college dining rooms, and encourage your friends to do the same. Our Oxford Fairtrade Map shows some of the many places around the city you can find Fairtrade products.
Organise an event with your colleagues. You can find lots of ideas in our engagement packs for staff, students and colleges.
Ask your administrative team to purchase Fairtrade products for your kitchen, meetings and events. See a list of products and more information in our engagement guide (coming soon!)
Lobby your college to join the Fairtrade scheme. You can use our Fairtrade Motion Template as a starting point.
