The Sustainable Students Oxford (SSO) is an umbrella programme offering learning and action opportunities, support for students interested in starting their own initiatives, completing training and networking. The scheme is open to all students from all disciplines and degrees, empowering you to take a variety of environmental actions.

How to get involved and what to expect

  • Take action. Join your college or departmental Green Impact team or work with staff to establish one! 
  • Apply to become a Green Impact Project Assistant working with one of the University’s Green Impact teams. Receive training in project management and gain hands-on experience.   
  • Access environmental sustainability networking and training opportunities. 
  • Receive IEMA approved training for environmental auditing and conduct year end audits for Green Impact team submissions.  
  • Meet like-minded students passionate about environmental sustainability. 
  • Gain transferrable experience in motivating change.
