Oxford University is a Responsible Futures accredited institution
This accreditation reflects the University’s commitment to embedding sustainability across teaching and learning and to supporting students and staff in shaping positive change towards a more sustainable future. Oxford University and Oxford Students’ Union joined the scheme in 2023, and since then the partnership has actively participated in an international network of higher education institutions, and worked with SOS-UK to advance sustainability education at Oxford. As an example, in Michaelmas term of 2024, a workshop with the TORCH Environmental Humanities Hub explored sustainability education in the humanities faculties.
Oxford provides an exciting and challenging learning environment, training future generations of researchers, innovators and leaders in sustainability.
We give our students the opportunity to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to become the sustainability leaders of the future. The University curriculum reflects its wide expertise in the fields of climate change, biodiversity and sustainability. Sustainability-related opportunities for internships and training courses are offered to students, and student societies are pioneering extra-curricular courses.
These opportunities will be built upon and extended to all students.
