Sustainability is part of our every day lives. It is made of small practical choices each of us makes and the impact these have on the world around us.

We compiled a list of resources to help you make sustainable choices and share them with others. 

We are always creating new training opportunities and materials to help staff and students promote sustainable best practice in their departments, buildings and colleges. Follow our newsletter to hear about new opportunities and resources.

The University’s Environmental Sustainability team offers various sustainability-focused internships. The team and Green Impact teams also make use of micro-internships and student consultancy services. You can submit an application for any of these initiatives through the Careers Service and subscribe to our newsletter to hear about opportunities as they arise. 

If you are working on a project, like a dissertation as part of your study at the University, we may be able to help. We could add real value to your project by sharing our knowledge and data. If you're interested in partnering with us, get in touch via sustainability@admin.ox.ac.uk. 

Please note, we cannot help with funding.  

Environmental Risk and Compliance resources and training are available through the Safety Office. To view available courses visit the Safety Office Training A-Z (accessible through single sign-on). 

 

The University's Purchasing Department has created a slideshow called 'Introduction to Purchasing' which includes a useful overview of how to build in sustainable considerations when making a purchase for the University. Visit the University Purchasing website to watch (accessible through single sign-on).  

We have compiled a list of sustainable alternatives for everyday products used across all departments. Please consult this list when purchasing paper, produce for your coffee station or staff kitchenette, and cleaning products. If you wish to enquire about additional items, please get in touch. 

Monitor utility use in the building

Access System Link to monitor resource consumption in your building (suitable for building managers). By using System Link building managers can monitor and control resource consumption, identify issues, reduce emissions and save on bills. Please read the Systems Link user guide for more information
