Enter the Vice-Chancellor's Awards 2026

 

Staff in all parts of the collegiate University are encouraged to nominate, whether they are academics, researchers, professional or support staff. There will be 13 categories in the 2026 awards, including a number of new and amended categories across a range of strategically important areas – bringing our people together and helping them share ideas and inspiration across all parts of Oxford. 

Environmental sustainability remains an integral part of the 2026 awards. Nominees in all categories will be able to highlight where their activity or project has supported the University’s environmental sustainability ambitions and culture. We strongly encourage nominees to provide information about how their project or activity that has contributed positively to the University’s environmental sustainability strategy.  

Nominations opened on Monday 15 December 2025 and will close at noon on Monday 16 February 2026. The winners will be announced at a special ceremony hosted by the Vice-Chancellor on 4 June at the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. Find out more and enter on the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards webpage

Sustainability recognition in the 2025 awards

Last year, Jon Ray was Highly Commended for his team's work on the GLAM carbon data model: 

We were honoured to be selected as Highly Commended for the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for our work on the GLAM carbon data model. I am relatively new to the University and I was particularly amazed by how many people took the time to comment, congratulate me, and share such kind words. The process of submitting our application was straightforward, helped recognise the progress we’d made and connect more with colleagues across the University.

Sustainability winners in 2024

Global Youth Climate Training at the School of Geography and Environment won the Environmental Sustainability Award in 2024, with the 'Everything is connected' programme of events receiving a Highly Commended award. You can find out more about the previous winners on the VC Awards webpage,
