Research is changing
As we confront a planet under strain, research must set the standard for how excellence, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. The LEAF Oxford Forum aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, universities, suppliers and funders to explore what truly sustainable research can look like.
Laboratories are the beating heart of discovery at Oxford. Yet they are also among the most resource-intensive activities of the University, consuming energy, water and materials at a scale that cannot be ignored.
Researchers joining Oxford today, and those already here, are called upon to set the standard for sustainable practice embedded within Oxford’s research culture, reshaping laboratories to meet environmental challenges without compromising research excellence.
Oxford is committed to this transformation, as part of both its broader commitment to environmental sustainability and its evolving research culture.
Research, culture and industry
We are delighted to invite colleagues from across the University and beyond to the LEAF Oxford Conference and Celebration, a half-day event dedicated to advancing sustainable research practice and for celebrating four years of achievements through the LEAF scheme.
Hosted in the University’s newly opened Life and Mind Building, this gathering will bring together researchers, professional services staff, funders, suppliers and other partners to reflect on Oxford’s journey toward sustainable research, explore opportunities for leadership and celebrate the achievements of our thriving community of practice.
