Behaviour change in Labs workshop and LEAF drop in session
Behaviour change in Labs workshop and LEAF drop in session
Why do people who genuinely care for the environment struggle to adopt sustainable practices in their work place?
Wednesday 11 March
Examination Schools
How come we all know what needs to be done and yet, don’t do it?
This workshop sets out to explore different behavioural change theories and reflects on how they can be used in your laboratory to help you achieve your sustainability goals. This will be a space to learn and share with other people from across the University, looking at how we can motivate impactful behaviour change.
The workshop will cover:
A brief introduction to behaviour change theory using DEFRA’s fours E’s of engagement
Selling the sizzle not the sausage- how to make the greener option sound attractive
Nudge theory - tips on when and how to remind people to make the right choices
The workshop will take place from 14:30 - 15:30 and will be followed by a drop-in session for the new Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) from 15:30-16:30. Come and see us for some advice about the scheme and how to make it work in your lab. There is no sign up required for the drop-in session.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are already involved in lab sustainability or just getting started. We will provide tea, coffee and pastries.
