Edible Gardening

Edible Gardening helps people to learn about growing food and to provide fresh fruit and vegetables.

In partnership with the Oxford University Student Union, we have created edible growing plots around the University as part of the scheme.

The small garden and vegetable plots are maintained by staff and students with produce grown for sharing.

Edible growing plot

Volunteer gardeners find it incredibly rewarding to share and eat the food they have helped to grow. Plus, of course, there are the health benefits of spending time outdoors.

It is also a great way to support a local community food initiative which raises the profile of growing food and the importance of local food production.

Dig in and volunteer

We work closely with the Oxford Hub who run some great garden schemes. They are always on the lookout for volunteers, including students. You can volunteer as much or as little time as you wish. So head outdoors and get growing!
