University Human Resources, in partnership with IT Services, will soon launch two new initiatives set to make processes more efficient and sustainable: Payslips and P60s, and incident reporting
13 May 2020
Payslips and P60s
From June payday, payslips and P60s go paperless for most University employees. The University will save around 25 trees a year by issuing these documents electronically, and will also make an estimated saving of £31.5k a year in paper and print costs. Employees can access their payslips and P60s online via HR Self-Service, including at home using the University’s free VPN service. Find out more at www.ox.ac.uk/hrss.
Incident reporting
On 1 June, a new online system will also be introduced to record health and safety, and environmental incidents. The Incident Reporting and Investigation System (IRIS) will replace paper forms, enabling staff and students to log incidents online. IRIS will have a positive environmental impact, saving paper (approximately 1000 paper forms each year) and eliminating the need to courier paper documentation containing personal data. It will also boost efficiency, providing instant access to incident data via a secure online system.
The ongoing public discussion on sustainable food has never been as important as it is now. It is now clear that our diet substantially affects our individual carbon footprint, as well as many other environmental and social aspects.
