Oxford Carbon Challenge

Did you know?

The University of Oxford has set a goal to reach net zero carbon and biodiversity net gain by 2035.

Join the Oxford Carbon Challenge. Suggested steps to take for each “I’ll try” button and “I do this”: turn your thermostat down, only boil the water you need, take shorter showers.

The challenge is a friendly competition between college teams, where each step you take or pledge to try is translated to points. The more members your college will have on your team, the more positive actions you will take - and the more points you and your team will score.

The challenge is run through the Giki Zero platform and led by the University's environmental sustainability team, with the support of SOS-UK (Students Organising for Sustainability), part of the National Union of Students.

You can gain points for things you already do and be inspired by new actions suggested to you. What's your score so far?

Please use your Oxford University email address only. After registration, be sure to check your spam/junk email folder for emails from Giki.Zero or Giki.Earth and mark them as not spam/junk for the future.

Print screen of Oxford Carbon Challenge home page with a mark on the Join Team button at the bottom menu.

Please note your membership needs to be approved manually so this will not be immediate. After being accepted click on ‘Join Teams’ and search for your college team (see example on right).

There will also be a prize at the end of the year - so join the challenge and be part of the solution!
