Compass have cut the amount of sugar used across the University by a remarkable 50kg a week through taking part in the Sugar Smart scheme. This includes setting up a traffic light system to give people an idea of the sugar content of all the cold drinks sold in the Compass-run cafes across the University.
The award was presented by Good Food Oxford at their annual event at St Luke’s Chapel on 12 November. Many British people consume far more sugar than the recommended amount, doing serious damage to their health over the long term. The Sugar Smart campaign is working with everyone from government, the food industry and employers to community groups and individuals with the aim of reducing this harm.
