Some also provide services and products that can help improve environmental sustainability around the University. But until recently it has been hard to find this information in a systematic way, so departments may not have been taking full advantage of these opportunities to reduce their environmental impact.
The Environmental Sustainability and Purchasing teams have worked together to create a comprehensive guide to sustainability-related products and services that are available from preferred suppliers, focusing in particular on suppliers of lab equipment and services. The online guide lists everything from how to return boxes of used pipette tips to the manufacturer to who to get in touch with at leading scientific equipment makers with any questions about re-use, recycling or sustainable disposal. The information is also available in condensed form in the list of preferred suppliers on the Purchasing site.
